UNKNOWN
by Joel T. Bailey
J. C. Pemberton Camp's Poet

He lies beneath the limbs
Of the old oak trees
The small flag on his stone
Flies in a Southern Breeze

He answered the call
And proudly wore the gray
Defending his homeland
Until his dying day

Like so many others
He was buried where he fell
Unknown is his epitaph
But the Lord knows him well

Just a few of the 100 unknown markers.
